The Mush Bus is back! Hop on the Mush Bus from Marquette or Munising for a chauffeured and guided round trip to Grand Marais on the Saturday of race weekend, February 15th. Passengers will enjoy the comforts of a full-size Checker bus (including a restroom). Marquette passengers will depart from the Holiday Inn at 11am and Munising passengers will be picked up at the Falling Rock Cafe around 12 noon. Approximate arrival time is 1:15 pm in Grand Marais.

Mushers registered by October 31st were entered into a drawing to get a 50% refund on their 2025 race entry fee. Our winners are Kevin Mathis (UP200), Brian Bergen (Midnight Run) and Sarah Romanik (Jack Pine 30). Congratulations to our lucky mushers!
Thanks to Mackenzie Geary, our Northern Michigan University student representative, for closing her eyes and drawing the winning names. Mushers will see their 50% refund soon and, of course, those funds will be redirected toward dog food, veterinary bills or replacing chewed gear.

Attention mushers and mushing fans! The UP200 is hosting the 8th annual UP200 Dryland Dash on October 12 and 13, 2024! This free-for-spectators event will start at 9am each day at Negaunee Township Park.

The UP200 is proud to offer scholarships for new racers interested in participating in the 2024 Dryland Dash. If the Dryland Dash will be your first race and you hail from Michigan's Upper Peninsula (NMU, Tech and LSSU students welcome!), we encourage you to apply. Scholarships will cover costs and fees for participation in the Dryland Dash scheduled for October 12th and 13th, 2024.

NMU student and UP200 intern Kenzie Jackson recently attended NMU’s Young Wildcat Scholars program to see sixth graders from across Michigan learn about mushing and dog care. The UP200 invited Ryan and Jana Roberts of Spirit Dream Racing to present to students. Kenzie shares her experience of the day below.

Last Thursday evening, the UP200 lost a wonderful friend, Anna Sanford. Anna, along with her husband Doug, have been long time volunteers and supporters of the UP200 – Midnight Run – Jack Pine 30 sled dog races. Anna has a very long history of helping with UP200, going all the way back to the early years of the races. She served as our volunteer coordinator, working tirelessly to get the right people in the right places at the right times. She and Doug have strong ties to Alger County and they teamed up to deliver supplies to Alger County road crossings. In… Read More

Online sales of 2024 race edition merchandise will be paused January 16th-19th in order to sell items in-person at our festivals and then reassess inventory. Merchandise will be back online for sales on the morning of Tuesday, February 20th. Thank you for your interest and support!
