Press release re: Cancellation of UP200, Midnight Run and Jack Pine 30:
Due to deteriorating trail conditions and concern for the safety of mushers and dogs, the UP200 has canceled the UP200, Midnight Run and Jack Pine 30 scheduled for February 16-18, 2024.

This year's race edition was designed by Dan Tosch, an NMU Art and Design alum from Boyne City, MI who has attended every UP200 since 2006. Make sure to get your hands on the 2024 design now. It’s a limited run and once it’s gone, it’s gone! Purchase online now– or you can purchase items in-person at the Holiday Inn all race weekend long.

To our mushers, volunteers, spectators and sponsors:
Many of you are wondering if the weather will cooperate and our UP200 races will happen. The UP200 Board of Directors is moving ahead with all race plans. We currently have snow across the region and the upcoming warm spell will help set the trail, softening snow during the day and freezing it solid at night. Hopefully the warmer weather won’t linger and winter will return bringing snow to cover a solid base.

The Mile Club is a dedicated group of race fans who support the UP200, Midnight Run, and Jack Pine 30 by sponsoring a mile of the trail. We are heartbroken at the passing of our dear friend and longtime volunteer Aileen “Ikey” Todd. Ikey was an integral member of our team for 25 years. She began by volunteering with downtown crowd control and road crossings, managed the Adopt-A-Musher program, gathered items for the newsletter, and later became our Headquarters Coordinator, a position she held for many years. Ikey was the first winner of the Bev Stroh Award for outstanding volunteerism. Her cheerful attitude and optimism brought a smile to everyone who met her. Services are pending and will be announced at a later date.
