Mushers and UP200 Board members are offering a volunteer orientation, hands-on dog handler training and a close-up look at aspects of the upcoming sled dog races. Not volunteering? Spectators are welcome! Get a new perspective about what you see at the races and what it takes to make the races happen from both a musher and race organization perspective.

Join us on Sunday, February 1st at 1:00 PM at the Northern Lights Veterinary Clinic, 917 County Road 480 (just west of the Crossroads at M553 and County Road 480).

We’ll begin inside with an overview of mushing equipment, volunteer opportunities and responsibilities, and the basics of dog handling and then we’ll head outdoors for a dog handler activity. The full program, indoors and out, will run approximately 2 hours.
