Calling all first-time racers!
The UP200 is proud to offer scholarships for mushers interested in participating in the 2026 Dryland Dash. If the Dryland Dash will be your first race, we encourage you to apply. Open to all ages.
To apply, please write a brief essay that answers the following questions:
Why do you want to compete at the Dryland Dash?
What do dogs mean to you?
What kind of experience do you have with mushing?
Essay must be in Word or PDF format and emailed to: janaroberts86@aol.com by October 1, 2026. Winners will be announced October 5th.
Rules:
Entrant cannot have competed in any race with a dog prior to entry.
Entrant must have a dog of their own to race or have made arrangements with a kennel to race a dog - the UP200 Dryland Dash does not provide dogs or equipment.
Entrants are required to wear helmets in wheeled classes and must agree to all rules that govern the race.
Entrants under 18 must have a note from a parent or guardian allowing the participant to enter the contest and the race
