Our friends at the Tahquamenon Country Sled Dog Race have made the decision to cancel this years race, scheduled for January 7 and 8, due to lack of snow and poor trail conditions. Cancelling a race is a difficult decision and we appreciate that the board chose to prioritize the safety of mushers, volunteers and dogs. TheTahquamenon Country Sled Dog Race (TCSDR) was the first of the three 2023 Superior Crown Sled Dog Series races. With the TCSDR cancelled, the Superior Crown planning group has made adjustments to the scoring so that the series can proceed for its inaugural year. All mushers who were registered for the TCSDR 10-dog race remain eligible for the Superior Crown series. If a musher registered for TCSDR 10-dog completes the UP200 or Midnight Run and the Copper Dog 150 or Copper Dog 80, they will accruepoints for those two races and be counted as having completed the series.
